Denver Broncos: Predicting a high risk, high reward free agency

Another player who has struggled badly with injuries in his career, Jason Verrett is potentially more of a ‘low risk, high reward’ type of guy but I wanted to include him on this list.
The Broncos have certainly seen Verrett, a former first-round pick out of TCU, at his best.
Verrett was taken in the same draft as Bradley Roby, and enjoyed a ton of success early on when he could actually get out onto the field.
As a matter of fact, he was looking like a potentially dominant player back in 2015 when he picked off three passes.
The Broncos tried to bring in another former high Chargers draft pick in Craig Mager this past season, so perhaps they would also be interested in banking on Verrett staying healthy. He’s suffered some freak injuries but he’s capable of being a number one corner when he’s out on the field.

If the Broncos were to sign a guy like Verrett, they would undoubtedly need to use a high draft pick on another player with starting potential, but if he’s willing to sign a short-term deal, this could be a risk worth taking.
