Fifth round (first pick): Jordan Ta’amu, QB, Ole Miss

Why Jordan Ta’amu?

Jordan Ta’amu has really every trait you would want in an NFL quarterback. He’s got size, speed, athleticism, natural arm talent, and he’s now got two years of SEC experience under his belt.

The issue here is, Ta’amu is not a refined product, and is going to need some time to develop.

What better situation than the one the Broncos currently have with Rich Scangarello and T.C. McCartney looking for someone to mold behind Joe Flacco?

The Broncos brought in Joe Flacco, but that doesn’t mean they are done adding to the quarterback position. This year’s class has not been highly regarded but the Broncos could look at a number of guys — including Ta’amu — and find players worth developing.

You may have to just see for yourself with regards to Ta’amu.

On day three of the NFL Draft, this guy is a steal. He’s a former JUCO transfer who made his way to Ole Miss by way of Pearl City, Hawaii and the New Mexico Military Academy.

At 21, he’s still very young and has a ton of room to grow. He should quickly become one of everyone’s favorite non-first round quarterbacks by the time the NFL Draft actually rolls around.
