First round: Devin White, LB, LSU

Why Devin White?

The Broncos just hired noted linebacker expert Vic Fangio to run the team. One of their first orders of business was to decline the contract option of linebacker Brandon Marshall.

The Broncos are in need of some speed at the linebacker position, and while White doesn’t have the same type of elite reaction time as Roquan Smith, he has elite speed and good enough instincts to be a high impact player in year one.

Thinking about a Broncos defense with Von Miller, Derek Wolfe, Bradley Chubb, and Devin White should get the coaching staff pretty excited about the future. This would also obviously mean the Broncos would continue to invest heavily on offense in free agency, but White would be a phenomenal piece to the defense.

He fits the profile of what Elway looked for in last year’s class as a team captain and a highly productive, athletic player over multiple years in college.
