The Worst

Paxton Lynch, QB

Yes, there are players who turned out pretty bad for the Broncos, but here’s the thing.

1. Lynch is a quarterback
2. The Broncos traded up to select him in the 2016 NFL Drat
3. He was unable to beat out multiple seventh-round picks to become the starting quarterback.

Paxton Lynch, as fellow Predominantly Orange writer Ty Walden says, has turned out to be John Elway’s worst draft pick. There are no ifs or buts about it.

After the Broncos let him go, he had workouts with multiple teams, and nobody chose to sign him until the Seattle Seahawks gave him a shot.

Michael Schofield, T/G

Unlike Matt Paradis, Michael Schofield was a guy who struggled tremendously on the right side of the offensive line.

He played both tackle and guard.

At one point during the 2018 season, Nicki Jhabvala tweeted a stat that stands out to me: the Broncos have had seven right tackles since the 2014 season.

Schofield was very bad, unfortunately. Especially for being a third-round pick.
