The Denver Broncos will have ample opportunities to upgrade their defensive line in 2019. There are some underrated free agents to consider.

With a deep defensive line class in the 2019 NFL Draft and a deep free agent group there as well, the Denver Broncos will have ample opportunities to upgrade the defensive front for Vic Fangio’s defense.

Fangio has had two of the top defensive linemen in football over the past couple of years in Akiem Hicks and Eddie Goldman, and the Broncos might be looking to find a young, talented player to pair with the likes of Derek Wolfe, Shelby Harris, and Adam Gotsis.

Benjamin Allbright has already reported the Broncos will pursue former second-round draft choice Johnathan Hankins, who has played for the Giants, Colts, and Raiders in his young NFL career.

Aside from Hankins, there are plenty of options for the Broncos to consider. There are a number of players on the open market who excel at stopping the run, rushing the passer, or both. We’re going to take a look at some of the guys who might be considered ‘underrated’ in comparison to bigger names like Ndamukong Suh or Grady Jarrett.

Any of these players could be great fits for the Denver Broncos.
