3. Trade for Carolina Panthers DT Vernon Butler

The Carolina Panthers once made Vernon Butler a first-round draft choice.

He has not lived up to their lofty expectations.

With that being said, Butler has a chance to right the ship as he’s only going to be 25 this year. Any time the Broncos are looking into acquiring defensive linemen, it’s important to note they would be getting some of the best coaching in the NFL with defensive line coach Bill Kollar.

Now with Kollar’s defensive line expertise and Vic Fangio’s scheme, the situation in Denver could be quite favorable for a young player like Vernon Butler.

At 6-foot-4, 330 pounds, Butler could end up being a reclaimation project in the mold of an Akiem Hicks.
