2. Trade for Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed

Similar to the trade of Joe Flacco, the Broncos would be acquiring three years worth of Jordan Reed’s contract in any trade with the Redskins.

Also similarly, the Broncos would not be absorbing any of his guaranteed money, and Reed has a reasonable $7.67 million base salary this coming season.

For a player of his caliber, that could end up being a bargain.

It could also end up being a complete waste of time, but because his salary is not guaranteed, the Broncos could easily pay as they go with a guy like Reed who has never played a full 16-game slate in his entire NFL career.

If the Broncos wanted to take a reasonable risk at a position of need with a guy who has proven to be a Pro Bowl caliber player still only 29 years of age.
