The Denver Broncos traded a fourth-round pick for Joe Flacco. Here are five more trades Broncos general manager John Elway should consider.

The Denver Broncos’ decision to trade for quarterback Joe Flacco certainly sent an early shockwave through the rest of the NFL world.

Though the initial shock factor of trading for Flacco may have caused a lot of negative reaction, the more I think about the trade the less I dislike it.

Flacco’s history in the NFL and arm talent alone give the Broncos a better option than Case Keenum, even though I’m on record as saying he would not be an upgrade over Keenum.

Statistically speaking, Flacco doesn’t look like an upgrade over Keenum but as it’s been since pointed out, Flacco may not be an ‘elevator’ of the talent around him but he may be more of a threat to all levels of the field consistently compared to Keenum.

In all likelihood, John Elway is not done wheeling and dealing. The Broncos have some draft capital to work with, and there are players out there who could be intriguing options for this team and the new coaching staff.

Here are five trades the team could look to make over the next couple of months.
