2. Ed Oliver, DT, Houston

Every year, someone relatively unexpected falls down the draft board for whatever reason. This year, that player could be Houston’s star defensive tackle Ed Oliver.

Oliver is a highly impactful interior defensive lineman who racked up 53 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks in his three seasons with Houston.

The idea of putting Oliver on the inside with Von Miller and Bradley Chubb on the outside?

That would give opposing teams nightmares every single week.

Oliver has faced criticism for a variety of reasons, as all top prospects do, but some are concerned about his lack of elite size (not a true 300-pounder) and ability to hold up against NFL interior linemen.

If you ask me, this guy is going to be one of the toughest players in this year’s draft pound-for-pound, and I think he would be a great fit for the Broncos who are experiencing a little turnover on the defensive line this offseason. Domata Peko and Zach Kerr are both unrestricted free agents.
