What about the 2019 NFL Draft class?

Considering the fact that Joe Flacco was just Wally Pipped by Lamar Jackson in Baltimore, I wonder how thrilled he would be about the Broncos acquiring him and then drafting another QB to replace him.

The odds of the Broncos drafting a quarterback with their first-round pick seem to have decreased significantly with this move, which means the attention should be turned elsewhere with that choice.

There’s still time for one of the top quarterbacks to blow Denver away, but just like in 2018, they have put themselves in a position to take the top player on their board and not reach for a quarterback who may not fit the value of where they are picking.

The likes of Drew Lock, Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins, and Daniel Jones will probably still be considered by the Broncos, but it’s possible Rich Scangarello has identified another value player (like he did in San Francisco with Nick Mullens) who could excel in Denver in the later rounds.

The Broncos are rumored to have interest in Boise State’s Brett Rypien and Auburn’s Jarrett Stidham, but any number of day two or three types of quarterbacks could be considered, allowing the Broncos to take a linebacker or cornerback in round one.

We know Vic Fangio likes his linebackers.

This may be a knee-jerk reaction, but in my opinion, this move makes the Broncos extremely unlikely to take a QB in round one, though it’s not impossible.
