Draft Summary

The Broncos would have plenty to talk about with six selections on day three of the 2019 NFL Draft, where they could address the wide receiver position and add depth on the defensive line, edge rusher, and secondary.

The Broncos have enough picks in this year’s draft that they seem like a decent candidate to trade up.

The crown jewel from this draft is obviously Murray, who would be Elway’s latest and perhaps last big shot at a young quarterback. It’s a risky proposition, but everything I’ve seen from Murray on the field suggests he’s a risk worth taking.

If the Broncos want to contend sooner than later and develop a young quarterback in the process, Murray is a playmaker cut from the same mold as Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson. He’s a much better passer than Jackson was in college, but he’s a better runner than Mayfield.

There’s so much to like about his game it’s hard not to ignore his lack of height.

The Broncos’ offense would be tough to stop with Murray’s dual-threat ability, the speed of Phillip Lindsay, and the playmaking ability of their wide receiver group.
