Kwon Alexander, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Age: 24 (25 in August)

We already looked at the option of the Broncos adding Kwon Alexander in a full post, so you can see some in-depth thoughts here.

Alexander is an intriguing player to hit the free agent market because he’s so young (just 24) and has three years of experience and a major ACL injury already as an NFL player.

What makes Alexander an attractive option for the Broncos? Speed.

Alexander is one of the fastest linebackers on the open market, provided the Buccaneers let him hit it, and that kind of speed is coveted in today’s NFL.

The Bears had a couple of speedy linebackers in Chicago under Fangio with Danny Trevathan and Roquan Smith. Smith is exceptionally gifted in that area, running a 4.51 at the Scouting Combine and showing that speed combined with phenomenal instincts on tape.

There’s not a player in this year’s free agency with that combination of skills, but Alexander definitely has the speed aspect down.
