Final Thoughts

We know John Elway is looking into ways to upgrade this Broncos roster. This type of offseason would require a lot of re-shuffling of the deck and moving around some finances.

The Broncos can try to re-structure Case Keenum’s $21 million cap number to free up some space, and look at extending Chris Harris Jr. to also free up some cap in 2019.

They could also make some roster moves like re-structuring, cutting, or trading the likes of Brandon Marshall, Todd Davis, or Emmanuel Sanders, though in this scenario trading Sanders is off the table.

There are so many pieces in place in Denver and the new coaching staff seems to be a very strong one. If the Broncos can go out and have a stellar free agency period and another solid NFL Draft class, this team could be back in contention rather quickly.

This type of offseason may seem like a dream scenario, but with some creativity in structuring contracts and re-working current deals, it’s possible.

The Broncos would have to say goodbye to some key contributors, most notably guys like Matt Paradis, Shaquil Barrett, and Bradley Roby in this situation, but with a strong free agent class in areas this team has needs, this would be a great haul.
