Troy Fumagalli, Tight End

Troy Fumagalli was another member of the Broncos’ star-studded 2018 NFL Draft class and a player the team scouted and liked at the 2018 Senior Bowl in Mobile.

Unfortunately, he had some nagging injuries all throughout the offseason and the team decided to shut him down for his entire rookie season.

I wonder if they regret that in hindsight, considering Fumagalli could have been the starting tight end by season’s end.

Fumagalli spoke to Orange & Blue 760 earlier this offseason and stated he’s added 8-10 pounds to his frame (meaning he’s somewhere between 255-260 pounds) so he should be able to play in the trenches at a high level with that kind of size and strength.

The Broncos will be implementing an offense that made a superstar out of a very good player in George Kittle, so it stands to reason an athletic tight end like Fumagalli will be a good fit going forward.

The combination of Jake Butt and Troy Fumagalli might be a major question mark for the Broncos, but it could also end up being one of the team’s great strengths.
