Denver Broncos: Three veterans John Elway should sign
By Domenic Grey
Safety: Landon Collins
A person can dream, can’t they? Landon Collins is a top free agent and is going to be on almost every team’s radar, and for him to call Denver home, it’s going to take a lot more than the mountains and 16th Street Mall to convince the former Pro Bowler to make Denver his new home.
Collins had a decent season with 96 total tackles with a bad shoulder eventually required surgery and put him on the shelf after 12 games.
The former Alabama star is a sideline to sideline safety with the athleticism to cover every position on the field. In a Broncos jersey, he would be the second coming of TJ Ward, who won a ring with this defense.
Darian Stewart has been rumored to be on the chopping block this offseason and clearly isn’t the player he was two years ago. Stewart, who is great in coverage, is just a decent run supporter, which the Broncos need with a shaky front seven.
Collins is going to come at a big tab, but it’s now our never for John Elway. If he wants to keep his job, he’s going to have to pull the trigger on some elite players.
