Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay adds to his great rookie season. He was named VIZIO’s Top Value Performer.

The Denver Broncos found a gem when they signed running back Phillip Lindsay as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado. VIZIO has recognized him for his performance.

The votes are in: Lindsay is the winner of the NFL’s VIZIO Top Value Performer award.

Lindsay took to Twitter to thank VIZIO and his fans for voting for him.

The award is given to the player who outperformed their expectations going into the NFL season.

Lindsay rushed for 1,035 yards and scored ten rushing touchdowns. He averaged 5.4 yards per attempt. All while missing the last game of the regular season, as well as a lot of the Broncos’ matchup against the Baltimore Ravens when he got ejected for a “punch”.

He finished the year ranked ninth in the entire league in terms of rushing yards, and third in the AFC.

Lindsay became the first undrafted free agent to gain 100-yards rushing in each of his first two games, and the third undrafted rookie to eclipse 1,000-yards rushing.

He was also the very first NFL undrafted free agent offensive rookie to be elected to the Pro Bowl. Unfortunately, however, Lindsay’s wrist injury prevents him from playing in the game.

The 24-year old Lindsay also gained more rushing yards than any undrafted rookie in the history of the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos drafted running back Royce Freeman in the 2018 draft, but it took just a couple of weeks to prove that Lindsay was going to be the starting running back.

Being undrafted, it seemed unlikely that Lindsay would make the team, but he impressed the coaches and turned the heads of players.

At just 5’8” and 190 pounds, Lindsay is very small. But he comes with a lot of speed. At his Pro Day, Lindsay ran the 40-yard dash at a blazing 4.39 seconds.
