Gardner Minshew, Washington State

Of all the players in this event, Gardner Minshew may have taken one of the wildest paths to the Senior Bowl.

Coming out of high school in 2015, Minshew committed to play football for Troy so he’s familiar with Mobile, AL a little bit. Things didn’t work out there, and he ended up going to Northwest Mississippi Community College, where he immediately led them to the NJCAA National Championship game.

From there, he transferred to East Carolina where he spent two rather underwhelming seasons, at least in terms of his overall production.

After graduating from East Carolina, Minshew transferred to Washington State to play in Mike Leach’s air raid offense and really put himself on the pro map.

He completed 70.7 percent of his passes with 38 passing touchdowns and only eight interceptions, adding four rushing touchdowns.

Minshew is a dual-threat quarterback and a very exciting playmaker. He is one of the players I’m really watching closely at this event and in the whole draft circuit to follow. He did so well this past season at Washington State and showed the type of guts and moxie during games you love to see from a young quarterback.

If the Broncos aren’t taking a QB in round one, this may be a guy to watch on day two or three.
