Ryan Finley, North Carolina State

Last year, the Broncos snatched up North Carolina State’s defensive captain with their top selection in the NFL Draft.

Could they find a way to get his offensive counterpart in 2019?

Ryan Finley is North Carolina State’s offensive captain and after two seasons with the Boise State program as a backup, he started three years as a transfer for the Wolfpack.

It’s not unreasonable to say Finley got markedly better every single season for the NC State program, but is he good enough to be considered a franchise quarterback type?

I’m not so sure.

There were times Finley made some great throws, and other times where he looked like a robot out there on the field, making decisions before throwing the ball and sometimes just not looking like a natural gamer.

Finley is probably going to look pretty good in a controlled practice environment as he’s accurate and makes throws with good timing, but when the lights come on is this going to be the guy to put your team over the top? Is he too predictable?

There are plenty of questions with this guy from athleticism to arm strength, but he’s got skills that lead many to believe he will be, at worst, a highly valued backup at the next level.
