Denver Broncos: Free agents with coaching connections
Aaron Lynch, EDGE, Bears
Injuries have made Aaron Lynch’s career up to this point an uphill battle, but he’s a talented edge player and a very capable reserve when healthy.
The Broncos are likely losing both Shaquil Barrett and Shane Ray to free agency, and could have an interest in a player who will not break the bank, who knows the defense and knows the coaching staff well.
Lynch’s time with Vic Fangio dates back to their days in San Francisco, where he was drafted.
He had six sacks for Fangio in his rookie season back in 2014 and played about 33.5 percent of Chicago’s snaps this year in 13 games (three starts).
He had three sacks this past season and could help the Broncos replace Shaquil Barrett as an all-around edge defender with Jeff Holland stepping up as the Broncos’ new situational rusher.
Lynch would be a great pickup for the Broncos and is only 26 this year.
