Adrian Amos, S, Bears

There are some really good safeties available in free agency this offseason.

Players like Earl Thomas, Tyrann Mathieu, Landon Collins, and LaMarcus Joyner will hit the open market this offseason so teams will certainly get lined up when it comes to finding ways to upgrade their secondary.

Adrian Amos of the Chicago Bears has put his name in the mix with the top safeties in the NFL over the past couple of seasons as well, and will be just 26 years old this coming season after four steady years of production with the Bears.

The combination of Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell has coached some of the top defensive backs in the league since the start of the 2011 season, and they have had a lot of success, in particular, at the safety position.

Back in San Francisco, it was guys like Donte Whitner, Dashon Goldson, and Eric Reid. In Chicago it’s been Adrian Amos and Eddie Jackson leading the way at safety.

Amos is more of the strong safety type of player, capable of playing deep or up in the box.

We’ll see how much Fangio and Donatell valued him specifically if the Broncos pursue him this offseason.
