Second Round

Vosean Joseph, LB, Florida

The Broncos’ defense has lacked the ability to cover tight ends in the passing game, and despite something of a ‘breakout’ season from Todd Davis in 2018 and the high upside of Josey Jewell, the Broncos are still in need of a sideline-to-sideline playmaker at the linebacker position moving forward.

Joseph can be just that.

The 6-foot-1, 226-pound linebacker out of Florida has a similar physical makeup to that of Roquan Smith coming out of Georgia, but he doesn’t have the type of absolutely dominant, jaw-dropping film Smith had.

This past season at Florida, Joseph had 93 tackles, nine tackles for loss, four sacks, and five pass breakups. He made a lot of big plays all over the field for Florida’s defense and fits the mold of what a linebacker needs to be to play all three downs in today’s NFL.

The Broncos don’t have a third-round pick in this scenario, so getting an impact player for the defense right here after drafting Dwayne Haskins in round one is a huge deal for them.
