Brian Flores
Could the Broncos possibly take the New England route once again with a coordinator? The last time the Broncos did this with Josh McDaniels, it ended in disaster.
Brian Flores served this season as a first-time defensive coordinator for the New England Patriots. In 2018, the Patriots defense ranks 7th in the National Football League in points allowed.
Once again the Broncos must proceed with caution on hiring a guy who only had one year as a coordinator, but they cannot overlook Flores football involvement in the league.
Flores joined the Patriots as a scouting assistant in 2004 and working in the personnel department for four years before getting into coaching in 2008. He served as an assistant for offense, defense, and special teams before becoming the teams DC after Matt Patricia’s departure to Detroit.
He’s developed knowledge on how every side of the ball should run while with the Pats which could prove to be one of the most appealing factors to interview him.
The Broncos have requested to interview Flores for their vacancy at Head Coach, but with the Patriots in prep mode for the playoffs, they may not grant it just yet.
