Mike Shanahan

If there was any chance of Mike Shanahan being the head coach of the Denver Broncos again, it has passed.

The rumors of Shanahan being pursued by John Elway in 2017 are now old news, and Elway said at his end-of-season presser that Shanahan is not an option for the team right now.

He did say he has a great relationship with his former head coach, and there are some conflicting reports as to whether or not Elway would still like to make this happen, but it seems extremely doubtful at this point.

Shanahan has been out of coaching for a few years now, and the thought of him coming in and bringing Kirk Cousins with him was appealing in hindsight, but the Broncos are moving forward with new, different candidates.
