The Denver Broncos have begun the process of looking for a new head coach. Here are the latest rumors and where Gary Kubiak may be heading.

The Denver Broncos’ fourth head coaching search since John Elway took over the team in 2011 is officially underway, as the team announced the firing of Vance Joseph on Monday morning.

Even in a year that doesn’t include a slam dunk candidate like Kyle Shanahan, there are plenty of prospective head coaches for the Broncos to consider and we took a shot at naming five of them.

Compared to the previous searches, this one is really the first that doesn’t feel completely pre-determined by John Elway and the front office.

When the Broncos’ coaching search got underway in 2011, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that John Fox would take over the team. In 2015, it really felt like the Broncos wanted Gary Kubiak and no one else. In 2017, Vance Joseph was considered the front-runner from the beginning and even Kyle Shanahan said he never felt like he would finish higher than second place for that job.

It doesn’t feel like the 2019 search will be done as a formality with a coach already in mind from John Elway and company.

What coaches are the Broncos considering? What’s going on with senior personnel advisor Gary Kubiak?
