Key Matchups

Melvin Gordon vs. Broncos front seven

The goal for the Los Angeles Chargers will be to get Melvin Gordon up and running on Sunday. If he is able to get it going, it will be a long day for the Denver Broncos defense. Domata Peko and Brandon Marshall will need to get it going to limit Gordon.

Case Keenum vs. Chargers secondary

With Phillip Lindsay’s season coming to an end, the Broncos will have Royce Freeman to carry the load in the running game. But the big key here is that when Case Keenum throws the ball, turnovers are going to have to be limited. The Chargers secondary is a solid bunch, so limiting the amount of turnovers on Sunday should lead to a win.

X-Factor: Royce Freeman

Cameron Parker noted that Royce Freeman was the next man up and how his contributions and skill set could give the Broncos something to look forward to in 2019. Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers could be something to note.

I feel that we did not get to see much of him after his injury that propelled Phillip Lindsay to the starter role. So far this year, he has recorded 461 yards rushing on 113 attempts and five touchdowns.

If he can impress against the Chargers, it would be fair to say that he could have a significant role in 2019.
