The Denver Broncos have built a stellar foundation for the future. How can they add to that with the 2019 NFL Draft? Here’s a mock draft scenario.

The Denver Broncos may have lost to a horrible team in the San Francisco 49ers, but if there’s anything positive from a loss, it’s that it’s much easier to identify a team’s most glaring weaknesses.

That has prompted some fresh, new ideas for a Denver Broncos mock draft, especially after seeing Todd McShay send the Broncos a playmaker in the first round of his latest mock.

Though I love the idea of the Broncos adding a playmaker like Hollywood Brown to the fray offensively, I do not see Elway veering from his bread and butter in the first round of the NFL Draft, which has been in the trenches defensively.

The Broncos have made a number of defensive front seven picks with their top selections over the years, and almost all of them have been home run picks. Even the selections of Sylvester Williams (2013) and Shane Ray (2015) proved to be exactly what the Broncos needed for their Super Bowl run in 2015.

Because the defensive front seven is really John Elway’s bread and butter in the NFL Draft, I think it’s appropriate we start there in the latest Broncos mock draft, which will look at the first four rounds of the draft.
