Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay continues to impress. This time, the NFL rewarded his week 13 performance against the Bengals.

Running back Phillip Lindsay has been phenomenal for the Denver Broncos.

Last week against the Cincinnati Bengals, Lindsay rushed 19 times for 157 yards (8.3 yards per carry) and scored two touchdowns in the process.

His performance has earned him AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. This is the first offensive player of the week award of Lindsay’s young career. He is surely going to add to the list.

Lindsay led the league in rushing in week 13. In second place for rushing yards was quarterback Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, who gained 135 yards on nine carries.

The Broncos’ star rookie, who went undrafted in the 2018 draft and signed with the Broncos as a free agent out of CU, has had 10+ carries in 10 of 12 games this season. He has had three games over the 100-yard rushing mark, including the last two weeks.

Lindsay has been a game changer for Denver. He has scored five touchdowns in the last three weeks. The Broncos have won each of those games.

Another award that Lindsay is in contention for is Offensive Rookie of the Year. His main competition is Giants running back Saquon Barkley, who New York drafted with the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

Barkley leads all rookies with 954 rushing yards, however, Lindsay is not far behind. He has 937 rushing yards on the season. With three games left in the season, Lindsay has a real shot at passing Barkley and taking home the rookie rushing crown.

If that happens, there is no doubt in my mind that Lindsay would win Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Denver’s last four games are against the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers.

The team is fighting for a playoff opportunity. They likely will need to win out the rest of the season to get there.

Lindsay is going to continue being an important part of the team. He will need to continue his great rookie season in order for Denver to make it to the postseason.
