The Denver Broncos are going to have to look elsewhere for some wide receiver help with Emmanuel Sanders’ injury. Here are some options.

The Denver Broncos lost Emmanuel Sanders for the 2018 season when he tore his Achilles in practice. The injury to Sanders is as brutal as it gets for the Broncos’ offense, especially after the defense just lost Chris Harris Jr. with a fracture in his leg.

Replacing Sanders — who has 71 receptions for 868 yards and four touchdowns, along with a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown this season — is not possible. There are simply no players available right now who can do the same types of things he can do.

The Broncos are going to have to replace Sanders by committee, and they are going to have to rely much more heavily on rookie fourth-round pick DaeSean Hamilton, who led the receiver group in snaps against the Bengals.

Sutton is now the team’s leading receiver among active players with 558 yards and three touchdowns.

We’re still waiting for a true breakout game from Sutton, and if it doesn’t happen now, that will be a shock.

The way the 2018 season has gone in terms of passing the ball for the Broncos, it would be wise of John Elway to explore bringing in a veteran receiver, or at least someone who could provide the team with a proven target to keep teams honest and not consistently load the box.

Because of the success the Broncos have had downfield and because of the potential of DaeSean Hamilton to now take Sanders’ place as the preferred underneath receiver, the Broncos could explore a variety of options.

Let’s take a look at a few of them.
