Denver Broncos: Making sense of possible playoff paths
By Tylor Walden
Los Angeles Chargers (9-3): How Denver can surpass them
This one will be short, because realistically, there is little to no chance the Broncos can pass the Chargers. So, why did I put them here? Because on any given Sunday, there is a chance.
What is that chance for the Denver Broncos? Well, Denver would need to win out and the Chargers would have to really stink up the place and lose their final four games.
Is that possible? Let’s see the Los Angeles Chargers’ final four games:
vs. Cincinnati Bengals
at Kansas City Chiefs
vs. Baltimore Ravens
at Denver Broncos
On paper, I do not see the Chargers losing to the Bengals. That 10th win for the Chargers would be nearly tough for Denver to come back, but they could win the tiebreaker at that point if they win out and the Chargers lose their final three games of the season.
In that case, the Broncos would need some help depending on where the other teams stand. It would really depend on where the four teams ahead of Denver for the wild card are when the dust settles.
This is nearly unlikely, but I would not put it here if there was not a chance of this happening.
