The Denver Broncos begin a two week road trip on Sunday to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. With a key piece missing for the Bengals, it will be interesting.
The Denver Broncos travel for their first of back to back road games to kick off the December schedule. In fact, Denver will be away from home for three of their final five games of the season. It is what happens when the schedule has a heavy dose of home games in the beginning of the year.
If you asked me at the beginning of the season how this game would go, I would have said it might be a bit of a struggle. Knocking on wood, that might not be the case for this week. The Bengals announced this week that longtime signal caller Andy Dalton was placed on injured reserve.
Denver will now see Jeff Driskel on Sunday. Driskel is still somewhat new to the league, drafted in the sixth round by the San Francisco 49ers. He has been on the Benglas practice squad for a bit before becoming the backup to Andy Dalton.
There is not a lot of film on Driskel, which could turn out to be rough. But with the inexperience, that could help the Denver Broncos. Only time will tell. But one thing is certain, the Cincinnati Bengals are in a tailspin. There chances of reaching the playoffs are all but done.
Can the Denver Broncos make it three wins in a row on Sunday? That would be a feat that has not been done during Vance Joseph’s time in Denver.
