Broncos vs. Steelers: Fortunate plays helping Denver
By Tylor Walden
Surprisingly, there is little scoring going on between the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers. Luckily, the Broncos have benefited from key plays.
The Denver Broncos are looking to get themselves back into the postseason picture. Entering today, they were one game out of the wild card. However, the Baltimore Ravens won today. But the focus is on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Surprisingly, this has become a defensive game thus far. But it has been different for each team. For the Steelers, they have been able to limit the Broncos on the ground and the Broncos have been unable to do much offensively.
For the Broncos defense, they have allowed quite a few plays, but have come up big in key situations. Justin Simmons came up with a huge block on the Steelers first field goal attempt. That allowed the Broncos to drive down the field and get a field goal on their own.
Another key play was made by Will Parks. As the Steelers were driving, they were on their way to the end zone. However, Parks produced a huge hit that jarred the ball loose and it went out of the end zone.
It would be called a touchback and Denver would get the ball back. It seemed like we would have to wait to see a touchdown.
Enter Matt LaCosse. As the end of the half was ending, LaCosse played a big part of a touchdown drive. A huge run by Phillip Lindsay led to him catching two big passes. The second one would go for a touchdown. And a cool choreography dance would follow.
Right now, the Broncos are looking solid against a tough Steelers team. As long as they keep up the play and produce positive plays, there is a chance the Broncos come away with a win.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will get the ball to start the second half. The game is tied. Keep it up Denver! Let’s go Broncos!
