The Denver Broncos found themselves in quite a pickle on Sunday. Thanks to a spectacular play from Von Miller, the course of the game changed.
It appeared as if the Denver Broncos were well on their way to suffering their seventh loss of the season. It would make it even more difficult for the Broncos to make any push for the playoffs. But Von Miller was able to come to the rescue.
On Sunday, Von Miller was able to record his 100th sack of his career. That is quite an impressive feat. But the biggest play of the entire game for the Denver Broncos came towards the end of the third quarter.
Facing a third and nine, the Chargers were driving. Looking to put the nail in the coffin for this game. However, Von Miller had other plans.
Phillip Rivers looked to set up the screen, but Von Miller was able to easily jump the route and return it well into Chargers territory. The Broncos were able to execute off of the turnover as they would score a touchdown on a run by Royce Freeman.
The play proved to be a huge turning point in the game. And it provided the point swing the Broncos needed. Denver could have looked at a 26-7 deficit. The interception brought new life into the team and allowed them to have the chance to win.
The Chargers did have some plays that allowed the Broncos to hang around enough to secure the win. But if you do not have that Von Miller interception, we may not be talking about Victory Monday.
This just proves how much of an impact Von Miller can make at any given moment. Either a sack that could end a drive, a strip sack to give the Broncos some offensive life, or a game changing interception.
If the fortunes turn for the Broncos this season, this play could very well become the turning point of the season.
