Graham Tiedtke, Matt Geving and I try to predict the outcomes of the Week Eleven AFC West match-ups, including the Denver Broncos vs LA Chargers.

In week ten, the Denver Broncos were on bye, and took the time preparing for their upcoming week eleven match-up in Los Angeles against the division rival Chargers. Despite the week off, the Broncos offensive line suffered yet another injury. Right guard Max Garcia tore his ACL during practice, and will miss the remainder of the season. In turn, the Broncos were forced once again to restructure their front line. Now missing both Garcia and Center Matt Paradis (leg), the Denver o line left to right looks like this:

  • Garret Bolles (LT)
  • Billy Turner (LG)
  • Connor McGovern (C)
  • Elijah Wilkinson (RG)
  • Jared Veldheer (RT)

While Denver was running around putting out fires on their bye week, lets take a peek around the rest of the AFC West during week ten.

The San Dieg- I mean, Los Angles Chargers picked up their 7th win on the year after beating the Raiders in Oakland this past Sunday 20-6. Now before you dismiss this as just another Oakland offensive let down, lets take a peek at some of the stats. LA lead in net passing yards, 222 – 203. But hold on, its get better.

Oakland out ran LA 114-113. Total net yardage comparison for the game was 335 -317 LA. The Raiders moved the ball 317 yards and only had 6 points to show from it. This isn’t just another breakdown for Oakland, this is a disaster.

Derek Carr had 243 Passing yards and went 24 for 37, getting sacked four times and fumbling once. No interceptions, no touchdowns.

This week the Raiders are headed to Arizona, looking to capture their second win of the season.

The Chargers will be  hosting the Denver Broncos in Los Angles, on Sunday.

Moving on, boy was I wrong about that Chiefs-Cardinals game. Normally I don’t buy into games that on paper should be a complete blowout. But alas, I went against my better judgment, and now look a little silly.

The Chiefs won regardless, by a score of 26-14. But more importantly, Patrick Mahomes puts ketchup on his steak, and I’ve heard more about it this week than anything actually football related from the Chiefs.

Kansas City will be playing in LA, not Mexico City, on Monday Night Football, which is probably the best regular season prime-time game we’ve gotten in a couple of years. The game was moved to LA as a result of the field in Mexico City looking like it had hosted a rodeo a week ago. It’s unfortunate for the NFL and the Rams organization because of missing out on some serious ticket sales, but luckily those of us who were only going to watch on TV anyway, it’s not a big deal.

AFC West Standings:

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (8-1)
  2. Los Angels Chargers (7-2)
  3. Denver Broncos (3-6)
  4. Oakland Raiders (1-8)

And without further ado, your AFC West Predictions.
