Fellow Predominantly Orange writer Graham Tiedtke and I take a swing predicting the outcomes of week ten’s AFC west games. The Denver Broncos are on a bye.

In week nine, we watched gap between the top two teams, in the AFC West, and the bottom two teams, grow. Both the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders dropped their games Sunday, but in two very different fashions. Meanwhile, the Chargers and Chiefs walked away with another mark in the win column.

The now (1-7) Raiders were blown out 34-3 in San Francisco who picks up just their second win on the season. Nick Mullens posted a 151.9 passer rating with over 200 yards on 16 of 22 passing. Oakland hosts the LA Chargers this week.

The Denver Broncos hosted the Houston Texas, and lost by a missed last second 50+ yard field goal by Brandon McManus. A frustrating 17-19 defeat that saw former Bronco Demaryius Thomas make his return just five days after being traded. To top it off, center Matt Paradis was forced to undergo surgery on his ankle after being rolled up on. Denver is on bye this week and have a whole lot of work to do to get ready for the Chargers in week eleven.

The Chiefs, to no surprise, beat Cleveland on Sunday, in which was actually not a bad game. The final score was 37-21, and Patrick Mahomes posted his 8th straight game of over 300 yards. The Chiefs, now (8-1), have scored 30+ in eight of nine games this year. The Chiefs host the Arizona Cardinals this week.

Los Angeles took a trip to Seattle and won 25-17, staying only a game behind Kansas City at (6-2). The Charger defense suffocated the Seahawks up front, sacking Wilson four times. LA has a trip to Oakland this week, and need to keep pace with KC.

Here are the AFC West standings heading into Week 10:

  1.  Kansas City Chiefs (8-1)
  2. Los Angles Chargers (6-2)
  3. Denver Broncos (3-6)
  4. Oakland Raiders (1-7)

Now on to the good stuff, Graham and I will do our best to predict the Week 10 AFC west outcomes.
