Denver Broncos side receiver Jordan Taylor, who is recovering from two hip surgeries, will not be activated this season.

Last week, word came out that Denver Broncos receiver Jordan Taylor would be able to return soon from recovering from two hip surgeries he had during the offseason. That has since changed.

The Broncos have decided against activating Taylor from the Physically Unable to perform list, officially ending his season.

Taylor would have been a nice addition to the Broncos receiving corps that lost wide receiver Demaryius Thomas when the team traded him to the Houston Texans last week. Thomas ended up playing against his former Denver teammates a couple of days later.

This is also disappointing news because the team waived receiver/returner Isaiah McKenzie recently. McKenzie was claimed off of waivers on Monday by the Buffalo Bills.

McKenzie will be on Buffalo’s active roster, meaning the Broncos have no chance of getting him back unless Buffalo places him on their practice squad or releases/waives him.

Taylor was eligible to practice the last couple of weeks and he did so. Unfortunately, he wasn’t progressing the way the team had hoped he would.

Denver currently has Emmanuel Sanders, rookies Courtland Sutton and Daesean Hamilton, Tim Patrick and River Cracraft on the active roster. That is a lot of young talent on the roster right now.

Cracraft has been on and off the roster throughout his time in Denver. The addition of Cracraft on the roster was the reason for McKenzie’s dismissal.

The Broncos sit at 3-5 halfway through the season. The hope was that Taylor would be healthy enough to return soon and be able to practice during the team’s bye week, which is now.

That will not be the case and Taylor will have to wait until next year to hopefully make an impact on the team’s progress.
