Week Nine Preview Pt. One

Thursday, November 1
Oakland @ San Francisco

Both of these teams are vying for the number one pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and the opportunity to draft Nick Bosa at this point. I actually think CJ Beathard will have a good day against a weak Raiders secondary and move Jon Gruden’s team one loss closer to the former Ohio State defensive end.

Line: San Francisco -3

Pick: San Francisco

Sunday, November 4

Detroit @ Minnesota

Detroit just traded their most reliable weapon in Golden Tate for future draft capital paving the way for Marvin Jones Jr and Kenny Golladay. I personally think this may be one of those situations of addition by subtraction.

Either way though, Detroit will be missing an offensive weapon as they face off against the stiff secondary of the Vikings at US Bank Stadium. Easy pick here. SKOL!

Line: Minnesota -5

Pick: Minnesota

Chicago @ Buffalo

Who’s going to be the starter in Buffalo now that off-the-street signee Derek Anderson was injured in Monday night’s contest? If it’s Nathan Peterman, then you have to take Chicago all day. Peterman is essentially playing for the other team any time he suits up and takes real game snaps.

For his career, the second-year quarterback has thrown an interception every nine attempts. Have fun Chicago.

Line: Buffalo +9

Pick: Chicago

Tampa Bay @ Carolina

I do think Carolina is the better team here but you have to go with Fitz-magic coming back and the generous one touchdown spread.

Line: Carolina -7

Pick: Tampa Bay

Kansas City @ Cleveland

I really wanted to pick Cleveland here with a huge spread. Maybe they’ll be energized with the firing of Hue Jackson, or maybe they’ll realize John Dorsey isn’t messing around.

Unfortunately, I think Kansas City is just too good.

Line: Cleveland +8.5

Pick: Kansas City
