The Denver Broncos host the Houston Texans in week nine. Predominantly Orange writer Baylor Bradac and I predict the outcomes of each AFC West matchup.

In week eight, the Denver Broncos fell short of defeating the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been dominant all year long and that was no different during their second meeting of the season with the Broncos. He threw for just over 300 yards and tossed four touchdowns and just one interception en route to a 30-23 victory.

His leading receiver was Sammy Watkins, who grabbed eight passes for 107 yards and two end zone trips. The Broncos’ loss to Kansas City on Sunday put them at a 3-5 record halfway through the season.

The Oakland Raiders fell to the Indianapolis Colts by two touchdowns, with the final score of 42-28. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns with a completion percentage of 71 percent while running back Marlon Mack had a tremendous day on the ground. Mack ran for 132 yards on 25 carries and two scores.

Kicker Adam Vinatieri kicked the team’s extra points as well as two field goals. Vinatieri also became the NFL’s all-time leading scorer during the game.

It’s now time to move forward to week nine with our AFC West predictions.
