The Dolphins could be a landing spot for Demaryius Thomas simply because there are a couple of familiar faces there.

Dolphins head coach Adam Gase used to be the offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos, as well as the wide receivers coach and quarterbacks coach.

The familiarity between Gase and Thomas, or any coach-player for that matter, is very important—especially if they did well together in the past.

Gase was in Denver for three years with Peyton Manning as the team’s quarterback. During that time period, Thomas’ lowest receiving yards total was 1,430, and his lowest receiving touchdown total was 10.

Miami also has a familiar face at quarterback in Brock Osweiler, who was a big part in Denver’s quest to bring home the Super Bowl 50 Lombardi trophy.

A Gase/Osweiler-Thomas reunion would also make sense due to the fact that it seems like there is bad blood between their top wide receiver, Devante Parker, and Gase.
