Shane Ray, EDGE

Shane Ray is a player teams around the league should be calling around the clock about.

The Broncos have some strong depth in the pass rush department, but they have really prioritized keeping Von Miller fresh.

That may be the only thing preventing them from trading a player like Ray, who has done well this season in relief of Miller.

The former first-round pick has struggled with injuries, and just missed the team’s blowout win over the Arizona Cardinals. He’s got a wrist issue that may need some work after the season, but Ray is a physical player who can put pressure on the quarterback and there are a number of teams in need of that right now around the league.

The Broncos have an abundance of rushers, and teams around the league know that. Jeff Holland could come up and provide some depth off the edge if the Broncos want to capitalize on getting some value from one of those expiring pass rusher contracts (Ray, Shaquil Barrett), but they are not going to have to make a panic move.

Both players would likely net them decent compensatory selections with the contracts they would get on the open market.

If some team offers a third or fourth round pick for Shane Ray, that might be a worthwhile deal to make.
