Shaquil Barrett, EDGE

Though there’s some uncertainty about whether or not the Broncos will be able to keep Shaquil Barrett beyond this season, but the team doesn’t seem overly worried about their ability to be able to keep at least one of their reserve rushers between he and Shane Ray.

While one or the other could be on the block for obvious reasons, the Broncos should make sure they protect at least one of these assets as they have made it very clear that Von Miller is not a 70-snap type of player and they value highly the ability to keep him fresh.

Barrett is a player who can eat up snaps and maintain a high level of productivity for the defense off the edge both as a pass rusher and run defender.

He’s also an excellent special teams player.

The Broncos weren’t willing to include Barrett in a deal that could have potentially landed them Joe Thomas a couple of years ago, so they should be looking to invest in him long-term.
