Von Miller

This is an easy one.

Miller said earlier in the week that the Broncos were going to kick the Cardinals’ butts.

That’s what they did. That’s what he did.

Miller was dominant against Arizona. He recorded two sacks as well as two forced fumbles. He rattled Cardinals rookie quarterback Josh Rosen all night and with 5:51 left in the third quarter, almost created another forced fumble.

The ruling, however, was that Rosen’s arm was going forward.

Two plays later, there he was again. Miller was able to strip the ball out of Rosen’s hand to force the turnover. It looked like he would force fumbles on every play against Rosen.

Miller was also a big help in Denver’s rebound game against opposing running backs.

Cardinals running back David Johnson had just 39 yards on 14 carries. Even though Miller did not stop Johnson every time, there were plays where he sniffed out the run and slowed Johnson down for minimal gains.

Miller’s comments earlier in the week were something the Denver Broncos desperately needed to hear. They needed to hear it from their defensive leader.

It was a stellar effort by the defense. Miller came through against Arizona and now it’s time for him to continue this type of performance next week.

Maybe he will give another motivational speech to amp up the defense against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium next week.
