A report from Pro Football Talk indicates that Denver Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby was absent from work on Monday, with no clear reason why.
Denver Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby had a really bad game against the New York Jets on Sunday after a really solid performance against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football.
Roby’s poor performance Sunday was undoubtedly the worst performance of his NFL career thus far, but there are still 11 more games for him to get things right and get back on the saddle.
Roby nearly declined media availability after the tough game he had against the Jets but ended up stepping up to the plate and talking anyway, keeping it together as much as he possibly could.
According to a report from Pro Football Talk, Roby was not present for work on Monday as the Broncos likely watched some film and talked about all the things that went wrong against the Jets.
The PFT report indicates that multiple sources gave multiple reasons for Roby’s absence, one being that he was gone for health reasons and another that he was simply a no-show. You hate to assume the worst in these situations, but the surrounding factors of Roby playing so poorly so far this season and facing the noise this week may have been a bit overwhelming.
Perhaps he just needed to distance himself for a bit. I know I’ve been there before.
Roby is at a critical juncture of his NFL career. He’s been one of the key contributors to one of the best defenses in NFL history, but this is his first year stepping up into more significant snaps with Aqib Talib in Los Angeles.
He’s playing for a new contract and is just 26 years old despite this being his fifth year in the NFL. Whatever is going on, we’re likely to get more information on Tuesday from head coach Vance Joseph.
