With the Denver Broncos bringing up Colby Wadman from the practice squad, Marquette King will soon find himself out of Denver once he recovers from injury.

Once again, the Denver Broncos will be forced to eat up some more money by way of Marquette King’s release. That move will happen as soon as he is healthy. But for now, he is on the shelf in Denver.

Mike Klis reported that the Denver Broncos have placed Marquette King on injured reserve. Once he is healthy, the team will release him. The move is another in what has been a bizarre short stint with the Denver Broncos. Punter Colby Wadman was signed to take King’s place.

According to Adam Schefter, the polarizing punter will travel to California on Monday to get an idea of what is causing the pain. The thought is that he aggravated a potential sports hernia. The injury surfaced during organized team activities.

It would make sense as to how his performance has fallen on the wayside. He had a solid game against his old team, the Oakland Raiders. But in the last two weeks, his performance has been one of the reasons the Broncos are in the middle of a two game losing streak.

This also will mean the Broncos will be forced to eat more money. According to Klis, the Broncos will be forced to eat $1.5 million of King’s two million dollar salary. In the long run, that is quite a bit of money. Denver might have some hardships when the 2019 offseason rolls around.

It is the end of what appeared to be a promising change when the deal was signed. I had hoped King would provide some consistency at the punter position. But it has sadly come to an end. What is even worse? Broncos Country will not get to see “Dear BFF, part two.”

Wishing Marquette King the best in his recovery. Hopefully he will find the issues and find a home soon.
