NFL Week Five picks part two

Miami @ Cincinnati
Miami just got their butts whooped by the Patriots, and unfortunately that isn’t stopping anytime soon. The Cincinnati Bengals have quietly been the best team in the AFC North this year. Is this the year that Andy Dalton finally wins a playoff game? Probably not, but they are definitely going to win this game by more than 6.5 points as Joe Mixon is expected to return to an already explosive offense.
Line: Cincinnati -6.5
Pick: Cincinnati

Oakland @ Los Angeles Chargers
Oakland finally got their first win last weekend against the Cleveland Browns leaving them at 1-3 on the season. Outside of the season opener against the Rams, however, the Raiders have been competitive in every game.
The Chargers, on the other hand are 2-2 after a close victory over a 49ers team without Jimmy G. Unlike in previous years past though, Los Angeles has only had one game within a few points and that was last weekend. While I am tempted to pick Los Angeles, I think Oakland found some swagger and will either keep this close or win outright.
Line: Los Angeles Chargers -5.5
Pick: Oakland

Arizona @ San Francisco
San Francisco’s defense struggled against Los Angeles last weekend prompting them to bench starter corner Jimmie Ward. Through the first three games of the season, Arizona’s offense was essentially lifeless and they made the switch to 2018 first round draft pick Josh Rosen.
Under Rosen’s leadership the Cardinals nearly doubled their scoring output for the season. Rosen looked like the real deal, and in his second starter, I think he can lead the Cardinals to a surprising victory.
Line: San Francisco -4.5
Pick: Arizona

Los Angeles Rams @ Seattle
Seattle isn’t typically getting points at home, but that’s the state of this year’s Seahawks. Times have certainly changed since the Legion of Boom years. The Rams are now the top team and Seahawks are looking a long way up.
I have a hunch the Rams are going to continue their offensive explosion with another great outing against a Seahawks secondary that just lost Earl Thomas.
Line: Seattle +7
Pick: Los Angeles Rams

Minnesota @ Philadelphia
This is a tough one to pick. I have no idea what Minnesota team we are going to get nor do I know which Eagles team we are looking at. They both appear to be suffering a hangover from last season with some of their lackluster performances thus far.
In a toss-up, I am taking the Eagles but I would highly recommend not betting on this game.
Line: Philadelphia -3
Pick: Philadelphia

Dallas @ Houston
Dallas is not performing at a high level through the first quarter of the season as they sit 2-2 after beating the 1-3 Lions and the 1-3 Giants. The Texans are in the same boat. They are currently 1-3 after a surprising victory against the Colts in the waning seconds of the game.
Many fans are quick to criticize both Dak Prescott and Deshaun Watson but only one of those criticisms is deserving and it’s not Deshaun’s. While he isn’t lighting the world on fire after coming back from a season-ending injury, he is performing well, and in last week’s game against the Colts he appeared to turn the corner.
Because of this, I’m picking Houston to win.
Line: Houston -3
Pick: Houston

Monday, October 8th
Washington @ New Orleans
After an opening game loss to the Falcons, the Saints have been running through NFL teams in route to a 3-1 record. They have scored over 30 points three times (including twice over 40), and although their defense has struggled in a few games, I don’t think anyone can keep up with Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, and Michael Thomas at this point.
Especially not a conservative Alex Smith-led offense.
Line: New Orleans -6.5
Pick: New Orleans
