2014: Broncos @ Chiefs (November 30, week 13)
The Broncos took an 8-3 record into Kansas City against the 7-4 Chiefs, and if any game could be considered a ‘turning point’, it’s this one.
A Broncos win would put them two games ahead of Kansas City with a tie-breaker in the form of two head-to-head wins. A win for the Chiefs would have meant they could simply overtake the Broncos in overall record and put themselves in position to win some tie-breakers.
The Broncos went into Kansas City in November and pounded the Chiefs 29-16. Winning in Kansas City in November was once considered a pipe dream for teams, but the Broncos had been making Kansas City a nice second home at this point in the rivalry.
Denver obviously went on to make the playoffs but laid an egg against the Colts at home in the playoffs.
