The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs are in quite the battle through the first 30 minutes of the game. Let’s see how the first half has looked.

Did you expect anything less from the two teams on top of the AFC West? The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs are in the middle of a big showdown. Both teams have been flexing their muscles any chance that they can.

The Denver Broncos have their running game working to near perfection in the first half of the game. It appears that the game plan is to have the Broncos running game run down a lot of clock to keep Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense off the field as much as they can. Royce Freeman had a solid run that resulted in a touchdown.

Denver’s defense has done a good job containing some of the key weapons on the Chiefs offense. Hill had some moments, but nothing really huge. Travis Kelce has been shut down through the first half. Which is good news since the Broncos have struggled against tight ends.

And the most important part? Case Keenum is protecting the football. Both teams have yet to turn the ball over. Although, Patrick Mahomes was close to turning it over on a botched snap.

What I hope to see in the second half is the Broncos pass rush get to Mahomes and continue to rattle him. And keep that running game going. The duo of Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay has rolled the Chiefs defense. The Broncos running attack has nearly 100 yards rushing in the first half.

If the Broncos can keep the Chiefs offense in check and run the ball, it could result in some good things. A big turnover could shift things either way. Some injury news. Jared Veldheer is questionable to return with a knee injury.

The Kansas City Chiefs will get the ball to start the second half. Keep it up Broncos!
