First Quarter

The first quarter started off slow for both teams. After the last three games, I have decided to be a little more cautious with throwing the football. For some reason, I cannot get it going in the passing game. So, I utilized quite a bit of Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman. I’ve even had Case Keenum scramble for some yards here and there.

On Kansas City’s second possession, Von Miller had a key third down sack on Patrick Mahomes III. As the game goes on, you will notice that the Broncos defense pressured Mahomes all day.

The first score of the game came on Denver’s second possession. The team drove down the field after a solid punt return from Adam Jones. It would be capped off on a one yard rushing score by Royce Freeman. Something to note is that Phillip Lindsay accumulated most of the yards on the ground.

The Broncos defense would continue to get pressure on Kansas City’s offense. The running game couldn’t get going. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce were unable to get open. The first quarter would come to an end with the Broncos leading 7-0.
