Defense

Teams are not able to run on the Denver Broncos, and while that should definitely matter, it doesn’t.

Last week in Oakland, the Broncos were nearly unable to mount a comeback because of how bad the secondary had been. The Ravens averaged 11.7 yards per reception, and they had 25 catches as a team.

You do the math.

Baltimore was able to move the ball through the air almost at will, despite being able to rush for less than four yards per carry as a team. Denver’s run defense continues to hold up, but the pass defense also continues to be porous.

Would you believe me if I told you the Broncos gave up another 30-yard play to a tight end?

Denver needs to make some moves in their secondary ASAP. Isaac Yiadom was forced into action in this game with Pacman Jones injured and Tramaine Brock leaving injured.

It wouldn’t be a shock to see the Broncos make a couple of moves in the secondary this week. They need someone who can help cover right away.

Here are some ideas of trades they could look to make to improve the secondary, and here are some possible free agents.

Bradley Chubb continues his stellar rookie season with another sack in this game and Shane Ray notched a strip-sack that should have been recovered by Shaquil Barrett in yet another play that helped shape the outcome of this game.

Josey Jewell saw his most extensive action of the season defensively, and not surprisingly racked up eight tackles, a tackle for loss, and a pass breakup.
