Week Three Picks-Part One

Sunday, September 23
Buffalo @ Minnesota
This line is one of the largest I have ever seen for a regular season game, but for good reason. The Bill’s offense is atrocious, and Minnesota’s defense is one of the best in the league. I hate to do this because every time I bet on a team covering that large of spread, something happens, but I can’t imagine not picking Minnesota here.
Line: Minnesota -16.5
Pick: Minnesota

New York Giants @ Houston
I am surprised Houston is getting six points at home. Both teams are 0-2 and both teams have lost to some pretty good teams with New York losing to Jacksonville and Houston losing to New England and Tennessee. Deshaun Watson just doesn’t look as good as he did in his amazing few games last year, and I think Eli Manning is about to have a breakout game.
Line: Houston -6
Pick: Giants

San Francisco @ Kansas City
Kansas City’s offense has been on fire with Patrick Mahomes at the helm. Their defense, however, is bad. Really bad. I haven’t been too excited about what I’ve seen from San Francisco but I think that offense gets it going. The Chiefs will win, but San Francisco will cover.
Line: Kansas City -6.5
Pick: San Francisco

New Orleans @ Atlanta
Neither of these teams have looked very good to start the season, and although the Saints are on the road to Atlanta, I believe the trio of Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, and Michael Thomas is too much for an injured Falcons defense.
Line: Atlanta -3
Pick: New Orleans

Green Bay @ Washington
This is tough to predict with a banged-up Aaron Rodgers, and the general lack of home field advantage Washington actually possess at FedEx field. The Packers defensive line is stout this year as is their secondary so I don’t think former division foe Adrian Peterson will get much going and neither will Alex Smith.
Line: Washington +3
Pick: Green Bay

Indianapolis @ Philadelphia
Philly is going to be hyped with the return of Carson Wentz, and although there is a good possibility he is a little rusty, he can’t play much worse than Foles. Foles has been average at best in his two games starting for Philadelphia. Indianapolis still isn’t a good football though.
Line: Philadelphia -6.5
Pick: Philadelphia
