Bashaud Breeland

Bashaud Breeland is the cream of the crop free agent cornerbacks right now. One does wonder why it is taking longer for teams to sign him to a deal. Maybe there is a significant off-field issue and teams do not want that distraction. But Breeland is a valuable cornerback when healthy.

When Josh Norman surprisingly signed with Washington, he and Breeland were one of the most underrated duos in the NFL. At one point, Breeland was the number one corner as Norman adjusted. According to Spotrac, the market value for a player who has been as productive as Breeland is five-years $35 million. Obviously, Breeland will not get that type of contract.

Not during the season.

The Denver Broncos are notorious for taking a gamble. Adam Jones is most certainly a gamble and was criticized by some. The team feels they are a better football team than media or fans think.

This is evidenced by signing Jones. Denver could take a bigger gamble signing 26-year old Breeland to a two-year deal. Yes, a two-year deal. As talented as Breeland is, he’s worth the risk.
